The New Era

Introducing: an updated version of me.

Okay, I lied. It's the same me with more makeup on my face. I blame it on Nicki Minaj and the other trannies out there. But that does NOT mean that I. myself, wants to be a transexual. I love and respect my GIRS out there but that is not my niche. I'm just a guy who is a full tank of sugar and is exploding with glamour, fashion, and extravaganza. Since you have last seen me in this blog, I have become more confident and aware that I am not most homosexuals. I'm just a tang-bang full of fashion.

You know, those special homosexuals that most gays don't really get or wouldn't want to know about. Dating-wise, it's been bleek except for the old perverts who always tend to get on me. No sir, I am not one of those typical, tan, tight-bodied, timid Gaysians. But the men I have met in the past few months have been okay. They are confident enough to talk to someone who's a tank full of sugar. Although, I get bored with them easily. I guess it's my fault. I'm holding out on one particular asshole. God, why do the pretty girls tend to go for the assholes?

In other aspects in my life, I have been more aware about friendship too. I have been selective with people in my life. I have learned not to trust too easily and to determine who is an acquaintance and who is more of a friend. I am also glad that people have resurfaced back in my life and have brought new people with them. One particular is a special friend from New Jersey. No she is not a housewife. And I have two great girls I have known since I was a chubby straight boy. Yes, I was straight for a period in my life. And of course, work is work. Because you see these people almost 5 days a week, doesn't mean you can make genuine friendships with them. There is a handful that I would consider a friend through connective threads and interests.

What else can I talk about? Hmm..I still love my RiRi and my shoulderpads. I suppose my fashion aesthetic hasn't changed as much. My motto is still: "If it's tight, then girl, you got it right." I'm still rocking the black and leather and I have been this whole summer. I have been broke becasue of Balmain. I still need to invest in Alexander McQueen items! Oh and I guess I have changed my hair at least 8 times since you have seen me. Different cuts, different color, bowl cut, a-symmetrical, blonde, streaks, black streaks, red, etc. Is it time for a weave?? I'll let Rihanna determine that! LOL!!!!

I guess you can say: I'm at my happiest this entire year so far. LEt's hope I end this year even happier!

Oh and Emily...that is all.

I'll Cry If I Want To...

So...I'm finally 24. Which is 58 in Gay years. I feel numb about being 24 but hopefully after a few hours, I will feel better about it. So I am not real keen on having parties...but I do like gifts. LOL!

Let's put it this way, I am in dire need of specs. I'm being real ya'll! And I have been craving for these glasses for a while and with your help, I can get them. And with your help, you can turn this fabuleux girl into a FABOOSH GIR. If 5 of my friends donated $20, you can help this poor little boy get his dream sunglasses. Yes, $100 is all I need to cop em. I am not asking for $20 really. Even $1 will help! I don't have a sugar daddy to depend on at the moment. But if ya'll help out, I can pretned you my sugar daddy and I'll blow you. Kidding...Kinda...Maybe...

Make my birthday wish come true. Donate! LOVE ME!

Oh Lent...

I wish to give up inconsistency for Lent. Let's bring this back. My friend, Jaime, pretty much opened my eyes and told me that I got too big for this blog. Sadly, kinda true. This is my opportunity to share to the world what I can give! And by the looks of it...I can give...

FACE! WERQ!

The Unsung Hero of Vogue.

Most of my readers know Anna Wintour. And most would have watched the Devil Wears Prada and how both women (Miranda Pirestly & Wintour) are the power of the magazine. The diety. But what about the rest of the people? The Nigels? Sally Singer works for Vogue and believe she is the text backbone of the magazine. She inspires, she provokes thought and she also pisses people off. This video contains Sally being interviewed in the Commonwealth Club and she breaks down everything that happens in Vogue. The interview is VERY inspirational. She has really broke it down to where anyone can understand how Vogue magazine works. There are so many good quotes I am definitely going to live by but one just stood out because I can definitely relate when I was beginning to learn about myself.

The video shows the first ten minutes but I suggest you click on the "WATCH FULL PROGRAM" button on the screen. You can skip and select scenes for those who have a time crunch! Trust me, it'll open your eyes and maybe even respect this buisness.

"Fashion is about, fashion and personal style is not about excluding people, it's about taking people who feel like they're on the downside (sic) and giving them tools by which they can project another self.... freedom or just the ability to change.

You look at Marc Jacobs, you look at Alber Elbaz, you look at the top people working in the business... these are not people who grew up comfortable in themselves. These people who realized early on that if they dressed a certain way, they could project another image to the world. An image that might be true to them... it allowed them a fabulosity that the world was denying them. If you look great your whole life, wear whatever. Who cares, you know? Fashion is about allowing you to be someone that you think you can create.
It's so many more tools. I never understood why people find it to be such an imposition in their lives. It should be a pleasurable thing to do."

IT ALL STARTED WITH A "WTF?"

So I took a power nap and woke up with a debate about a picture of me that a friend posted on Facebook. ENTICING! This pretty much sums up how people view me.

OHH HERE COMES MY SPEECH! EVA PERON, WHO?!

One last note: I know I can be gaudy but I never try to put myself in any danger where I can be emotionally and physically harmed. To me, the worse thing I can do to myself is to make my family worried about me when I go out. Even at work, I never walk alone...day or night. If it so happens that I do, I have my Swarovski Crystal Chanel-logo pepper spray with me in handy. Boo Yah.

Life Shattering Moment With A Hint Of Hope

This pretty much sums up my life. It's an excerpt from the great classic movie, "The Devil Wears Prada":

Andrea: My personal life is falling apart.

Nigel: That's what happens when you start doing well at work. Let me know when your entire life goes up in smoke: then it's time for a promotion.

Problem is: both my personal and work life is falling apart. Does that mean I will find a $1million bill on the floor? Doubt it. It's all a connective thread. You're miserable at work, yo come home miserable. You don't feel like doing anything so you don't go out and socialize, so you eat. You eat and watch cheap novelas, you get fat. You get fat, you're out of the GAY SOCIAL LOOP! It's a trickle down effect. I'm afraid I'm a Chanel who evolved into a Bargain Bin Buyout!

I've heard it before: I'm non-confrontational and I run away from my problems. Not at all. The thing is, I don't feel the need to explain or use my energy on anger and frustrations. I would like to use that energy on something positive...like a dance floor. Or Sunday outdoor shopping!

One problem is that I always go back to bad addictions: food, bumming it, past relationships. And when those come back, I find my temporary happiness which fuels the bad part in my life. I have to say, in a whole, my personal life was a tragic roller coaster of events. Sadly, lot's of "shouldas". I mean, since I'm down and out right now, it can only get better right? I'm doing my best to patch it up: I got a new hair doo, I weeded out the "acquaintances" and kept my positive friends and friends who can make me laugh, and I started to eat less again! HURRAH! Okay about the weight, I understand...people say that I'm already skinny but today, a friend of mine put it in a way that I totally agree: "I know you're skinyn but I understand you need to be in a certain level of being skinny so I totally support you." It's true. I just need to tone up. NO MORE SUBWAY TUNA SUBS!

I suppose this venting is actually an affirmation that next year will be better.

...yeah....!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

This is the first Thanksgiving where I will lose weight rather than gain it. Yes, I'm sick with the flu. No, not the Swine. But that won't stop me from eating a little bit. What else would a bitch like me eat than some...

RIP DAUL KIM. 1989-2009

It's very upsetting to know a model (especially a model of color) has passed away before her prime. She was totally fierce. I hope Saint Gianni and Coco takes care of you in fashion heaven.

YAY! I'm A Fairy Godmother!

Although my family is crazy and borderline psycho, we have gorgeous genes. LOL! I am very happy to announce that my beautiful cousin had her beautiful baby boy and the beautiful baby boy is going to have a beautiful godmother....which is ME! naturally. Can't wait to enlighten and nurture this child's mind, teaching him tolerance and what is appropriate to wear for each season. Don't worry, I will never put ruffles on my godson...let's leave the ruffles to me!

Speaking of ruffles, maybe it'll be cute if I wear my Viktor & Rolf ruffled tuxedo shirt to the Christening! LOL!

Chyes?!

The Gay Physique: Every Hetro Envies Us.

Every hetrosexual person envies a gay man's body. We know that although personality is important in the world of dating, physicality is also.

The masculine side: There are two paths a gay man can go physically: ultra-masculine and ultra-feminine. David Beckham, Brad Pitt...these men are definitely influenced by gay culture. You can tell they take care of their bodies in the gym. And gay men built the gym. HAHA! Come on, because of gay men, the gym has been popularized since the 1970's. And if you see guys in straight clubs who sport Ed Hardy on their hard bodies acting machismo, they can definitely blend in at a gay club also. Ironic huh since these guys are usually the homophobes. I see straight gym bunnies looking like total gay guys with thier dye jobs and gem-studded shirts.

The femme side: Women love befriending the skinny gay. Because they envy their skinny bodies and wish they had the same slender silhouette. This is the path I can definitely relate. These gays are the type who follow the feminine trends and fashion. And yes, I have a big girl following. I collect "Alternative Lifestyle Companions" (better than saying fag hag) like Pokemon cards. I have different types and all are FIERCE!

Basically, the physical upkeep is important because gay people are vain and we always try to beat the next bitch next to us..all the time. It's always a competition out there. America's Next Top Model, American Gladiators...same GAY CONCEPT!

I'm A New Woman Now...

The reason I haven't updated lately is because I have been busy. Ok..that's not the only reason. I also got lazy, I have to deal with stress emotionally, personally, and physically and blogging about it is not my way to relieve things. I finally can say that things have changed and I feel better now. I have surrounded myself with great people as of late and weeded out the people who can anchor me down or slow my personal growth.

Fashion Updates: I ordered another Balmain jacket. yeah yeah...One is enough but I need one in black. And one from the Fall/Winter collection. Today is the start of fall and it's 68 degrees. That's pretty crisp for Los Angeles weather. So I pulled out my Viktor & Rolf shirt and Dolce&Gabanna tartan bow tie out of my archived closet and sported it today. Parisian chic is my aesthetic for this season. Think Emmanuelle Alt and Francoise Hardy as an inspiration. A good friend, Kayla opened my eyes to a Balenciaga high heel boot that is subtle enough for me to wear. I try my best to stay androdgynous without wearing women's shoes but this one is a good one to wear. And of course, my fashion icon Rihanna will always be an inspiration.

Personal Updates: I'm skinny. Okay that is not an update. Duh. I'm going to be a fairy godmother. My cousin is going to pop out a bundle of joy and I AM VERY EXCITED! My own living doll HAHA! I will do my best to inspire the child in every aspect, not only fashion-wise. I already have a cute outfit to wear for the baby christening. Think RUFFLES! My other cousin also had a baby and it's the cutest thing ever! I need to use these children to find me a man. Gaybies are the newest accesory to a gay man's life!

That is basically the important shit in my life right now. Very blessed right now. Time for some slideshows!

It was a Safari theme and I was the only ho to be festive. Ugh Leave it to me to upstage the preggo lady. So Carrie Bradshaw of me.

Baby: Cute
Baby throwing up on my silk Roberto Cavalli silk tuxedo shirt: Not Cute

Temporary Insanity.

Sorry people. I haven't updated in a while. I'm sure I lost my THREE fans. LOL!

I would want to blame my hiatus on a busy summer, rehab perhaps, or maybe a spontaneous trip to Europe where I left all my belongings and backpacked for months. I just got lazy. And busy too. Been going on random road trips with friends and trying to enjy the sumer life. Honestly, I hate summer. I am happy again since I am stocking up on Fall and Winter clothes. HOORAY! Jackets! Laying! Fur!

I already made my crazy winter purchases. One of many I need for this season. I bought myself a Missoni shawl cardigan. Now I can look like Sasha Pivovarova. I also need ANTHER Balmain jacket for THIS season. More pointed shoulders.

I am offended that a lady said I wore knockoff. Sorry honey, just because I'm a simple guy doesn't mean I can't have luxuries that you can never obtain. But I did like her Gucci shoes. Twas on sale..that's why she copped them. Lucky her.

Okay. I'm just listening to Fleetwood Mac and enjoying my coffee on my lunch break. I promise you (and to myself) that Iwill update more often again.

From your resident RiRi look alike,

Chuck

I Don't Have A BFF. Just Friends Equally Special In Their Right.

We had to do a Lacoste-inspired photoshoot. Except I'm Tanya Dziahileva and my homegirl "Miss Tropicana" is Sean O'Pry.

Anyways, for the past few weeks, I went through so much with friends. I have to admit, I don't have too many friends because I tend to be guarded. A lot of acquaintances but not too many friends that I can be very vulnerable with. I'm difficult. I definitely consider a someone a friend when they have a good vibe and I feel comfortable spilling my personal life with them. And in return, I get the same. There was an instance recently when someone was very disrespectful with a friend and I had to protect them from getting super hood and "shank a ho". I always have that maternal (right?!) instinct to take care of them and relate emotionally. And to also keep them away from getting arrested.

Last weekend, a couple of friends (who I have known for more than 10 years) and I got into a car accident and one being emotionally vulnerable since she is going through a lot of stresses in life felt so overwhelmed, that I tried to distract her from problems with my weird sense of humor. Basically, I am always there for them. Making sure they're okay.

Just wanted to spill out something many people don't know. I can actually be a good friend. And if were friends, we're most likely going to be friends forever. CHEESY BUT TRUE!

Long Beach Pride.

Went to Long Beach Gay Pride on Sunday with my cousin. This basically sums up the whole day: Messy but we still look all kinds of cute.

Self Conscious Body Part Has Been Battled.

First of all, sorry for the delay in updating. I had to handle personal business that doesn't need to be blogged about.

Anyways...Everyone has a body part that they are self conscious of. As confident as I portray myself to be, I mask my least favorite body part to have a prettier illusion. That my friend is my forehead. As what Tyra Banks would say, "Five head". You can probably draw a map on my fivehead and when I was going through puberty, I had zits all over it looknig like you can connect the dots. My skin has cleared since then and yet I still felt disturbed by it. I just didn't want people to think that I has balding (which I'm not. I have a great head of hair that I take care of everyday). I did get hair cuts that mask my problem area and accentuated my face. and worked out for me. Basically, I got a-symmetrical bangs. HAHA!

Lately, I grew less conscious of it because people that I truly adroe has been rocking the fivehead. You know my divas: Tyra, Naomi, Beyonce, and especially my style icon, Rihanna. As of today, I stopped caring when I saw a recent picture of Alien Princess RiRi rocking a hairdo that is out of this world. Alien coiff as you may. I pretty much emulated the exact hairstyle and is sporting the five head at work. I already bumped into my co-worker who actually likes the look.

I can actually say it's a sigh of relief. I faced my personal fear.

If only Rihanna knew how much of an inspiration she has been when it comes to image and style. Well except for her nudie pics. I must say though...her ass looks amazing! WERQ IT OUT!

Even The Tiniest Purchase Is Being Affected.

I am the quintessential recessionista: I had to give up pieces of luxury and spend it on practicality. Basically,I have to sometimes have that "quantity over quality" mentality now even though I want to be vice versa. Don't get me wrong, I still have my crazy splurges: Chanel necklaces, Marc Jacobs hat, etc. But those are pieces that you can recycle and never go out of style. You can outfit couture with a pair of H&M denim (which is awesome since they have a Balmain powder blue denim jean right now!) with some Dolce&Gabbana sunglasses. My biggest splurge at recently was a MacBook because my PC which I loved, built, and had for over 4 1/2 years got busted. It needs to retire. It couldn't keep up with new updated technology. A laptop is totally practical in my lifestyle even though it's not in the recession sense.

I also had to cut back on purchasing magazines. I'm that type of person who is never satisfied purchasing American Vogue, W, and Harper's Bazaar. I will go through great lengths to drive 15 minutes away to this cute magazine stand that sells L'Uomo Vogue (Men's Italian Vogue A.K.A. THE BIBLE), Hercules, and the new British magazine LOVE. European magazines, although filled with rich content, GREAT editorials, and ACTUAL models on the cover, can be very pricey ranging from $10-15 a pop! These publishers know that they are very affected by this so most great magazines decided to be on the blogosphere and has found a new outreach to the fashionably yet recession-hit consumer.

Check any magazine website and they have blogs. Some even have blogs on blogspot! Great style blogs have surfaced such as BryanBoy.com, a 22-year old Filipino who lives in my third-world country of the Philippines, has become a fashion superstar, bumping shoulders with French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld and is a big Marc Jacobs fan to the point where Marc himself has noticed him and has named a bag after him in his Fall/Winter '08 collection. There is also a great blog that I follow run by fashion photographer Scott Schumann (thesartorialist.com), a man who had a passion for great tailored style, has become a big hit in the world, that he has landed a gig with DKNY jeans. He also modeled for the GAP!

And for the men out there! Check out contributingeditor.blogspot.com, an online magazine with great photographers and actual working male models. It beats spending $15 on a European magazine.

Sidetrack: I'm at Coffee Bean and I just spotted gay icon Carol Channing. My inner queen just came out.

Anyways, support you fashion sites. Because I want to be as impacting as them. As what Madonna told Dick Clark when he asked her what she wanted to do in the future during her starting "Lucky Star" days..

"I WANT TO RULE THE WORLD"

Yummy Yummy Screw, no?

I Am So Upset.

...my car got broken in. Nothing was taken but my Marc Jacobs umbrella. I'm guessing a homosexual homeless man wanted my Richard Prince print umbrella.

I'm so upset.

Minor Blog Change, Major Perception Turnaround.

" I know that you can't live on hope alone, but without it, life is not worth living"

As you can see in my blog, I took out my funny "Suck My Balls" picture for something more appropriate at these times. I decided to be less cynical and more aware, knowledgable, and understanding. Don't get me wrong, you must be thinking "Why the sudden personality change? You're starting to write about things that has not have to do with fantasizing about screwing a hot guy or shoes?!" Trust me, I still want to screw Richard Gutierrez and male models. And you can all still suck my balls but this is really important to me.

Today, I received the package I've been waiting for. It's basically a tiny piece of fabric knotted to signify my support for marraige equality. Tying the knot, if you may. I also went to my friend's house to watch "Milk" and it finally sunk in that the social ridicule I go through is a walk in the park compared to the times where gay men where beaten and gay-owned businesses where raided for no real reason.

As much as my mother loves me, she voted Yes on Proposition 8 because she believed that it's against her religion. What she doesn't realize that there is a separation between church and state and it is definitely not fair to see my two brothers have the right to marry and I can not, which makes me feel like a second class citizen. And since then, I still bug her about the issue. Reality hasn't hit her yet and maybe something like that movie or a piece of cloth can change her perception.

You see, I did not get the white knot for me. I plan on giving it to my mother, with an attached paper showing information of marraige equality and a copy of "Milk" (also because she thought Spicoli was funny in "Fast Times At Ridgemont High").

What can you do? Click the link, check the site. Be informed. The knot costs a stamp. You know you love me, you wouldn't be reading my blog. You know you love the gays, we make things prettier. So why not support?

It Would be Too Expensive To Change My Last Name To Bradshaw.

Every girl out there will totally agree with me:

There is a Carrie Bradshaw in all of us women.

Last night I was out with my girls chit chatting over some cocktails, classy selections such as Korbel (Hah) and not hard liquor, and we talked about the "what ifs" in our lives.

"What if we went into the relationship too quickly"

"Should I have moved in with him?"

and the realistic yet dreaded question, "Should I just leave him?"

If you did not know us, you would think that we're just regular bitches bitching. But having friends who are mirror dreamers such as myself, these types of things are important since we live for love. Why am I talking about this? It's because Carrie Bradshaw re-entered my life lately. A few weeks ago, I have this beautiful friend from work, who I like to call Miss Double Dip because she loves her double scoop of 70 cent ice cream from Rite Aid as is not ashamed of it. She will totally kill me for that. Anyways, since we live near each other, I thought I would take her home and during this trip to her house, we ended up talking about each other's loves life and my dilemma emulated Carrie Bradshaw's.

Then again yesterday, after dropping off Miss Double Dip home, I sped to Mom's for some good old fashion Filipino food when I see my mother watching the Fourth Season. In that season, Miranda meets a handsome man training for the marathon who loves to eat out assholes. (Oh get over it, you're reading a gay man's blog for Cher's sake.) Awkward, yes. What's more awkward was that my mother quickly stared at me looking like she was going to ask me THAT question. And yes, I had to walk away from the situation. After that, I thanked my mother for the delicious food and left.

Okay this is where I relate myself to Carrie Bradshaw. It's detailed so beware...

This is how I see the four girls: Charlotte gets sex because of her class. Miranda gets sex because of her intelligence. Samantha gets sex because...well..you know. But Carrie...she gets sex not because she's not the best at everything but she has a piece of the other three WITH an amazing closet. That is me. I know I'm not the conventionally cutest but I am so comfortable in my own skin, it makes me god damn amazing. I am confident, smart, socially open, and although you don't see it, I'm...caring. And I'm not saying this to overempower myself. And I'm not saying this because I need a pick me up. I am saying this just because. And yes, it's a bit cocky but this is my blog, damn it.

I guess you can say, I'm happy because I put myself in a positive environment. I have my girls, my shoes, my closet and especially my self worth.

Post Script: One final Bradshaw comparison is translated best in this clip. Even down to the Dolce&Gabbana.

I AM IN COUTURE HEAVEN!

A few months ago, I put my name on a waiting list for the Marc Jacobs-Stephen Jones collaborated Boater hat. After coming from my high this weekend from my San Francisco trip, I thought it was over and I was about to sink back into reality. Out of nowhere yesterday, I got a call saying I was picked to get the Yellow Boater Hat from the Spring 2009 collection.

The best part is: They only made FOUR in North America. I about died. So many outfits to revolve around this icon 2009 Spring piece.

I am over my black Givenchy phase and heading towards Mary Poppins meets Georges Seurat's "Un dimanche après-midi à l'Île de la Grande Jatte" (Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte)

Since last night, I have been on the verge of tears. I can't wait to pick it up this Friday.
